Purchase Policy

In order to buy a guitar, you have the possibility either to come to Galerie des Luthiers or to buy via our website.

1. Vendor’s identification

The owner and publisher of this website is La Galerie des Luthiers SAS, a simplified joint-stock company with a capital of € 10.000. It is located at 46 rue Ney 69006 Lyon FRANCE and listed in the FrenchTrade Registry under number (SIREN) 819 465 576

2. Payment methods

Payment by bank transfer.

Payment by credit card only in the store

French VAT

If you live in Europe, you have to pay the French VAT which is already included in the price quoted on our website.

If you live outside of Europe, you do not pay the French VAT. However, you may have to pay additional local taxes, customs duties and fees (see below). The French VAT comes to 20% of the net price.

VAT is not chargeable on guitars on consignment (i.e. items that we don’t own, but sell on behalf of a customer)

Taxes, customs duties and fee

If you live outside Europe, you will usually have to pay additional taxes, customs duties and fees when the goods reach your country.

This holds true whether the guitar is new or used.

The rate depends on the laws of your country, please check with your local customs departments to ascertain the amount you will have to pay.

Please note that the sole responsibility for any import duties and taxes always rests with the customer.

Customs agencies or courier companies will usually bill import taxes and duties separately, direct to the customer — often after delivery.

3. Delivery term

We deliver all around the world. The goods will be shipped by Chronopost international, DHL, UPS, or Fedex, to the delivery address specified on the order form.

We send the goods as soon as we have received the full payment.

Damage goods

All orders are thoroughly checked and very carefully packaged before dispatch.

Delivery is considered completed once the goods reach the delivery address specified on the order form and the receipt has been signed.

Please, check the goods immediately (while the delivery man is still present) to make sure they haven’t been damaged during shipment.

In the event of goods arriving damaged, clearly report and describe the damage on the delivery slip. In such a case, notify us within 24 hours after receipt.

We reserve the right to request additional photographic evidence for insurance purposes.

Failure to comply with the above rules would result in your complaint not being considered and La Galerie des Luthiers not being liable to the buyer.

4. Cancellations & Returns - Online purchase only

As a remote order customer, you have the right to cancel the contract within 14 days after receipt of the goods, without having to specify the reason for your change of mind and without being charged for it (except for the return shipping costs).

If you wish to cancel your order, please notify us (by email at contact@galeriedesluthiers.com or by phone at 0033 7 62 80 67 03) during this 14-day period.

Please note that we will NOT accept returns if we have not been informed beforehand. The goods will have to be returned (fully-insured) within a 14-day period after you have notified us.

Once we have checked that the goods have arrived back in exactly the same condition as when sent to you, we will refund the purchase price including delivery costs (using the same payment method you used when buying). The return shipping costs will be charged to you.

In the case of failure to returns items in their original condition will result in deductions from your refund or refusal of a return.

For the refund, we will use the same payment method you use when buying the goods.

5. Guarantees

New instruments are guaranteed according to the manufacturer’s guarantee. Please contact us for further information.

Are excluded :

Damage resulting from use and any kind of wear and tear is excluded.Failure to follow the instructions for use will result in loss of guarantee.

Damage due to misuse, lack of care and maintenance, excessive strain or exceptional environmental conditions (such as excessive heat or humidity) are excluded.

Damage caused by the use of accessories, of supplementary or replacement parts which are not original components are also excluded, as well as damage resulting from alterations and changes to the instrument.
