Tobias Braun was born in 1960 in Holzminden - Germany, the following year his parents moved to Vienna - Austria. He studied German literature and journalism. In 1983 he built his first guitar on his own. The following year he began a long period of apprenticeships with José Romanillos. In 1990 he contributed to the German translation of Romanillos' book "Antonio de Torres". GuitarMaker - His Life and Work" (published by Bochinsky).
This magnificent guitar that we present is inspired by a 1924 Santos Hernández. The work of lutherie is remarkable for its perfection and precision, the aesthetics are of great beauty. Tobias Braun manages to restore the spirit of the old instruments associated with Romanillos' guitars: suppleness, a response that is both soft and responsive. The basses are heavy and deep, the trebles are dense and generous, the cypress brings warmth and roundness to the tone. A beautiful instrument built by a luthier who remained faithful to the teachings of his master Romanillos and concerned to perpetuate the Spanish tradition in its most beautiful aspect.
