As a soloist and in duet with his brother Eduardo, Sérgio Abreu was one of the most famous concert artists of the 60s and 70s. At the beginning of the 80s he started building guitars. He played on a 1930 Hauser (the guitar that served as a model for José Romanillos to build, in 1973, Julian Bream's guitar and also that of the Abreu brothers). This Hauser was a major influence in Sérgio Abreu's work.
This superb guitar, built in 1998, has remained in perfect condition. It is a well-balanced instrument, the notes are dense, well timbred, well defined, the basses are deep and the trebles clear, colourful and precise, a beautiful musicality full of charm and lyricism.
