René Baarslag was born in 1948 in Heerlen, Holland. When he first travelled to Granada in 1977, he discovered Andalusian lutherie. He worked with Antonio Marin Montero and also with Robert Bouchet. His workshop is located in the Granada area, where he works with his wife Ana Espinosa and their son Julio.
The quality of his lutherie work and the sound quality of his guitars have earned René Baarslag an international renown.
The guitar we are pleased to present at the Galerie des luthiers fully justifies this reputation. It is perfectly constructed with the choicest tone woods and aesthetically superb.
It is a powerful and well-balanced instrument, with a rich and expressive timbre; its notes are colourful and well-defined. Spanish lutherie at the highest level.
