Lorenzo Frignani lives and works in Modena. Since 1986 he has been making guitars, violins and lutes as well as restoring antique instruments and he has won several prestigious awards for his lutherie work. In addition to his main career in instrument building, he also works as a court expert, consultant, teacher, and lecturer in the field of lutherie. He is involved in research on the use of local tone woods and has written several books on the history lutherie. This instrument is the result of years of research into both acoustic performance and sound quality. It uses a bracing system of original and personal design. The aesthetics are highly successful. The purfling on the back, ending in an oval figure, recalls Frignani's interest in questions of harmony and balance around the "Vesica piscis".
Soundwise, the harmonic richness of the timbre and the silky, woody notes endow this instrument with a strong, serious, even solemn personality. This is a superb guitar in every respect — gorgeous to look at and with a very beautiful sound.
