A beautiful guitar signed Lorenzo Alvarez from 1976. Lorenzo Alvarez started making guitars in the 1940's with his older brother Juan Alvarez, both of whom were initially cabinet makers. The Alvarez brothers became friends with Marcelo Barbero (1904-1956) who gave them advice and support and introducing them to the work of Santos Hernández (Marcelo Barbero had succeeded Santos Hernández in building guitars for his widow). Lorenzo Alvarez opened his own workshop where he worked until his death. His work will remain faithful to the teaching of Barbero in the filiation of Santos Hernández.
The craftsmanship and the aesthetics are well realized. It is a powerful and homogeneous instrument, the notes are clear and singing, the tone is warm, woody and expressive. A beautiful guitar, having a historical value with a strong and beautiful musical identity providing a real pleasure of play.
