Paula Lazzarini was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. With a diploma in History and an interest in historical objects, she studied restoration and conservation of ancient objects at the San Marín University in Buenos-Aires. Her particular interest in wood and antique instruments led her to lutherie. Argentinian luthier Ricardo Louzao, the first luthier she worked with, taught her the instrument making process. Between 2010 and 2012, she met some of the great names in lutherie, such as Daniel Friederich and Antonio Marín Montero, who would give her advice from which she would be able to draw the best. In 2016, she moved to Cremona, Italy, where she specializes in building traditional and modern lattice classical guitars. In October 2021, Paula won the fourth “Antonio Marín Montero International Guitar Making Competition” in Granada.
Thanks to all these experiences and encounters, Paula developed her own identity, with breathtaking results, as seen in the guitar presented here. The aesthetics and lutherie work are perfectly realized. The woods are of the highest quality. Soundwise, the notes are dense, singing and rich in harmonics. The timbre is warm, colorful and woody. A superb guitar, powerful and responsive, with a strong personality and a wide sound and musical palette. It sometimes happens that instruments share common traits with the person who built them, and this is undoubtedly the case with Paula Lazzarini's guitars, so much so that her instruments give off a musicality with something sincere, spontaneous and warm.
