Johannes Kitselis is a Swedish luthier born in 1969. He started playing classical guitar at an early age and built his first guitar at the age of 15. Later, in 2007, he opened his first workshop and now lives and works in a small village in Ängelsberg (150 kilometers northwest of Stockholm). In 2017, he was awarded first prize in guitar building at the Saint Petersburg International Guitar Festival. Nowdays he mostly builds double top guitars, aiming for a clear, vibrant and rich harmonic sound, focusing on sound projection.
The guitar presented here is our fourth guitar from this luthier; it is his double-top concert model. The craftsmanship is well done and the woods are of the highest quality. It is an instrument with a very powerful sound. The notes are clear, responsive, and expressive. The slim neck and its reactivity make it easy and enjoyable to play. A fine concert instrument, well made and with great performance.
