Johannes Kitselis is a Swedish luthier born in 1979. From an early age, he was interested in making guitars. In 1990, he began training in woodworking and cabinetmaking. In 2007, he opened his workshop in Ängelsberg (150 kilometers northwest of Stockholm). Two years later, he received advice from Greek luthier Giannis Paleodimopoulos, which led him to the type of guitar he wanted to build. In 2017, he was awarded first prize for lutherie at the Saint Petersburg International Guitar Festival.
The guitar presented here is his concert double-table model. The craftsmanship is well done, and the woods are of the best choice. Soundwise, this guitar combines the power of the double top with the timbre of traditional guitars. Notes are clear, responsive and expressive. A beautiful, well-made, high-performance concert instrument to discover.
