Félix Manzanero is one of the great names in Madrid guitar making. He was born in Madrid in 1937 and started learning lutherie at a very young age with Modesto Borreguero. At the age of 14, he was apprenticed to José Ramirez, where he quickly became a master artisan. After 12 years with Ramirez, Manzanero opened his own workshop in 1963 in Santa Ana Street, in the Rastro neighborhood, where many famous concert artists from all over the world have visited him to admire his guitars.
This guitar was built in 1965, two years after the creation of his workshop. The guitar has been beautifully restored by Hugo Robles who built a new top. Hugo Robles is an experienced luthier who knows old instruments well, the result of his work is breathtaking : he has given us back the charm of the Madrid luthier's guitars,; the timbre is woody, refined, full of lyricism and sweetness.
An exceptional instrument.
