Enrique Garcia (whose father was the luthier Juan Garcia) was born in 1868 in Madrid. In 1883, he began his apprenticeship with José and Manuel Ramirez. Ten years later, he won the first prize at the Chicago exhibition, and thereafter mentioned this award on all his labels. At the age of 27, in 1895, Enrique Garcia left Madrid to settle in Barcelona. He quickly became quite famous and even gained international renown. Enrique Garcia is widely regarded not only as the founder of the Barcelona School but also as representing the transition between 19th and 20th century guitar-making. He is now considered one of the greatest luthiers in history.

This guitar was built with a Tornavoz. Its timbre is deep and expressive, with a breathtakingly beautiful and lyrical musicality. This instrument fully lives up to its maker’s legendary reputation.
