Don Pilarz was born in Montreal. After studying music and mathematics, he moved to Genoa, Italy. He built his first guitar in 1982. His lutherie work is shared between guitar making and restoring antique instruments.
This 2008 guitar of his has a gorgeous timbre. Its notes are clear and expressive, and also harmonically rich. A lovely instrument with a very endearing personality.
