Domingo Esteso (1882 - 1937) was trained by Manuel Ramirez (just like Modesto Borreguero, Santos Hernandez and Enrique Garcia). In 1915 he set up his own workshop at Calle Gravina 7 in Madrid.
Domingo Esteso is considered one of the greatest luthiers in the history of Spanish lutherie — you need only see and hear this guitar to understand the reason why.
Its notes are dense, clear, precise, and well-defined. The balance is perfect. Its timbre and musicality are incredibly rich, with a harmonic halo that surrounds the notes (combined with perfect clarity, though).
Quite an exceptional instrument.
