This is a rare instrument since Daniel Friederich did not build many flamenco guitars using cypress for the back and sides. In this case, the use of the word « flamenco » needs to be redefined: unlike standard flamenco guitars the action height is 10/12 mm near the bridge and 3/3,5 mm at the 12th fret, which makes it closer to a classical guitar than to a flamenco. Below the Friederich label another one (which reads « Au carrefour de la musique ») was added by a music shop at the time.
Soundwise the notes are mellow and woody, and the timbre is breathtakingly beautiful in its depth and lyricism. A true jewel of an instrument.
