Bertand Ligier lives in Connaux, a village in the Gard region near Nîmes. After university studies in art history, motivated by his love of wood, he began studying cabinetmaking and the restoration of antique furniture. The practice of classical guitar, combined with his interest in woodworking, made him evolve naturally towards lutherie. The quality of his work, always in progress, both aesthetically and sonically, has allowed him to acquire an international reputation: his guitars are known, appreciated and demanded throughout the world.
The instrument presented here reflects these qualities: the craftsmanship is perfectly realized and the aesthetics is of great finesse and elegance. The quality of the selected woods is remarkable, the table in spruce from the Val di Fiemme and also of course the sides and the back built in a magnificent wood of lemon tree from Ceylon. Soundwise, the notes are round, dense and roaring, the tone is deep and expressive: an instrument of excellent quality and high level with a great and beautiful musical presence.
