After studying in the Lutherie School in Mittenwald, Annette Stephany became Italian master luthier Lorenzo Frignani’s apprentice. In In 2015 she set up her own workshop in Schweinfurt in Lower Franconia.
This beautiful guitar is a copy of a Manuel Ramirez 1910 model. The original belongs to Lorenzo Frignani’s private collection. Those who have heard both the original instrument and the copy all reckon that Annette Stephany has managed to capture the richness of sound of the Manuel Ramirez 1910 model.
Manuel Ramirez is mostly remembered for giving one of his best guitars to young Andres Segovia in 1912. What shouldn’t be forgotten either, is his training of four of the greatest Spanish luthiers: Santos Hernandez, Enrique Garcia, Modesto Borreguero, and Domingo Esteso.
Annette Stephany's guitar combines aesthetic appeal and sound beauty. This guitar is powerful and well-balanced. The voices, while full of lyricism and rich in harmonics remain clear and well-separated.
