Vincent Engelbrecht is settled in Saint Michel l’Observatoire, near Manosque (in Provence). In 1997 he started learning his craft with Christopher Schuetz thanks to a three-year apprenticeship in this luthier’s workshop. He then spent two years in Granada (Spain) in order to further improve his skill in constructing classical guitars and flamencas.
This double-sided guitar is very refined aesthetically. All the finishes are meticulously made: ebony and curly maple purflings, a well-drawn and modern-looking rosette design (in beech and rosewood).
Soundwise, it’s a powerful instrument, with a homogeneous tone all along the fingerboard. The notes are well-defined, with excellent sustain and good flexibility.
Altogether a lovely concert instrument.
