Vicente Cherubito is one of those luthiers of Italian origin who came to settle in Argentina in Buenos Aires. At the beginning, he built violins and cellos, but later he turned to the construction of guitars. If the name of Vicente Cherubito is inscribed in the history of the Argentinean lutherie it is largely due to Narciso Yepes who considered him as the best luthier of Latin America of the time. Yepes was very close to the Cherubito family as shown by the piece "Suite populaire Argentine" composed by Miguel Angel Cherubito (Vicente's son) dedicated to Narciso Yepes.
The guitar presented here is very representative of the idea of the Argentinean guitar as we can imagine it, the notes are vibrant and very expressive with a warm and woody tone. An important guitar as much for its historical value as for its sound qualities.
