Based in Bouzonville near Metz, Tino Battiston, first trained as a cabinet-maker, and was then apprenticed to Master luthier Kazuo Sato, whose teaching didn’t consist in making the younger man duplicate his guitars but in helping him find his own way.
Soundwise, this 630-scale guitar shares his other, 650-scale instruments’ qualities: it offers Battiston’s customary power, homogeneity and response. The notes are rounded and colorful.
The shorter scale length, the smaller neck width and the neck curve, together with mellowness all contribute to make this guitar both easier and more enjoyable to play.
